TEAC Corporation was originally founded as Tokyo Television Acoustic Company on August 26, 1953 by two brothers, Katsuma and Tomoma Tani. In 1956, the two brothers founded Tokyo Electro-Acoustic Company and eventually merged these companies in 1964 to form today's TEAC Corporation.
